Plain-language summary

CareLoop helps families organize care information in one place. We store the information needed to run the app, show it to invited care group members, and create family/doctor summaries. We do not sell personal data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers inside the app.

What we collect

We collect the information that users enter into CareLoop, including:

  • name
  • email address
  • elder profile details
  • medication records
  • blood pressure logs
  • daily updates
  • important notes, symptoms, falls, appointments, and other family-entered care notes
  • questions the family wants to ask a clinician
  • photos attached to care records

We may also collect basic technical information needed to operate the service, such as authentication and security logs.

Why we collect it

We collect this information only to provide the CareLoop service, including:

  • creating and securing accounts
  • storing and showing care information to the family members invited to a care group
  • generating family summaries and doctor visit summaries
  • organizing family-entered notes with safety boundaries
  • maintaining app security and reliability

Who we share it with

We share data with the service providers that host, operate, and power CareLoop's features:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery
  • Groq — AI processing for CareLoop's optional AI-assisted features (see "AI-assisted features and our AI provider" below)

We do not sell personal information. We do not share health-related information with advertisers.

Invited family members and caregivers can see care information inside the care group according to their access. Only invite people you trust with this information.

Where data is stored

CareLoop uses Supabase and Vercel infrastructure. For U.S. launches, the intended storage region is the United States.

How long we keep data

We keep data while the account exists, unless the user deletes the account earlier.

How to delete your data

You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account inside CareLoop. When an account is deleted, associated CareLoop data is deleted according to the application schema and retention rules.

AI-assisted features and our AI provider

CareLoop offers optional, action-triggered AI-assisted features — for example, organizing a note you wrote, preparing doctor-visit questions, generating a family care summary, and reading a medication-label photo you take. You choose when to use these features; CareLoop does not run them automatically in the background.

To provide these features, CareLoop sends the relevant care information to our third-party AI provider, Groq, which processes it and returns a result. Depending on the feature you use, this may include the notes and questions you write, structured care-summary data (such as the elder's name, allergies, conditions, doctor, medications, blood-pressure and other vitals, daily check-ins, and health records), medication details, and medication-label photos.

AI output is for organization only, is not medical advice, and should be reviewed by a person before it is saved or shared. Do not use AI features for emergencies — call your local emergency number instead. CareLoop does not use AI to diagnose, prescribe, or make treatment decisions.

If you do not want this care information processed by our AI provider, do not use the AI-assisted features. The rest of CareLoop works without them.

Security

We use access controls, authentication, and database/storage rules to limit access to authorized care group members. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce unnecessary access and exposure.

Children

CareLoop is not intended for children to use on their own.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
